The program January – March 2026 now online!
We are delighted to present a new and varied program for 2026:
Among other things, our new series Roots and Wings, featuring Claus Koch and Sabine Andresen, among others, will address current issues and trends in education, while our equally new series And Now? will ask renowned experts such as Robin Alexander and Julian Nida-Rümelin how Germany and Europe can remain capable of action in the face of crises. Meanwhile, we are continuing our programs from the Schlaglicht USA series with multi-layered discussions with Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook, among others, on current developments and new perspectives in transatlantic relations.
You can look forward to outstanding personalities such as journalist and author Daniel Schreiber, filmmaker Doris Dörrie, philosopher Eva von Redecker, and many more.

We are starting the year with a musical highlight: From January 2 to 10, the 36th Heidelberg Piano Week invites you to a celebration of piano artistry.
Another highlight follows immediately afterwards: our 24th International Festival for Silent Film & Live Music will take place from January 29 to February 1. Look forward to timeless classics such as Chaplin or Murnau’s Nosferatu and rare gems of film history such as the works of the first female film pioneer Alice Guy-Blaché – accompanied live by outstanding music from local artists.
