Summer Reading at the DAI Library 2024
This summer, all bookworms and bibliomaniacs can show what they’re made of! The DAI Library is presenting its Summer Reading for the first time: a competition in which children and teens read as many stories as they can over the summer and track each book for the chance to win one of three great prizes. Any kind of book is allowed – no matter how extensive, and regardless of the language!
Summer Reading brings children and teens together and promotes their love for reading.
So grab a book, find a cozy spot to read and let’s go – a summer full of books is waiting for you!
Prizes:
- Free tour of the Hockenheimring for up to 4 people (2 adults + 2 children)
- 20 € gift card for a local book shop
- Free participation in a current DAI Language School course of your choice (duration: 1 month)
- Lots of consolation prizes
Conditions:
- Age: 7 – 18 years
- A membership of the DAI Library
- Great passion for reading
Here’s how it works:
- Sign up for Summer Reading from June 1st to June 8th at the DAI Library (library@dai-heidelberg.de). As soon as you are registered, you will receive your reading tracker by e-mail, or you collect it at the library.
- You have three months to fill your reading tracker. Any kind of book is allowed: novels, graphic novels, poems, magazines, etc. – the main point is to read a lot!
- Return your reading tracker to the DAI Library by September 17th, where all reading trackers will be displayed. Please note: only fully completed reading trackers will be considered for the prize draw!
- Prize winners will be drawn at random from the completed reading trackers on September 24th. The winners will be notified by e-mail.
- There will be a prize celebration on October 24th at the DAI Library.
