How does contemporary fascism develop? And what dynamics drive authoritarian movements? In her latest book, Eva von Redecker, a passionate voice in contemporary philosophy, shows that modern fascism has a new, hard-to-recognize form that differs from familiar forms such as National Socialism. Von Redecker analyses how authoritarian movements use tradition, social norms and property claims to legitimize their power. At the same time, she shows ways in which cohesion, democratic values and resistance can be strengthened and what each individual can do.
Dr. Eva von Redeckeris a philosopher and author. She became known for her books Revolution für das Leben (2020) and Bleibefreiheit (2023), in which she reflects on ecological crises, property, freedom and the possibility of a life-friendly society.
