24th International Festival for Silent Film & Live Music

From January 29 to February 1, 2026, the 24th International Festival for Silent Film & Live Music will take place at the German-American Institute (DAI) Heidelberg. 17 timeless masterpieces of film history from the years 1896-1929 will be accompanied live by regional musicians with their own compositions. In addition to famous classics such as Murnau’s Nosferatu, Charlie Chaplin, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy will also be shown. A special highlight is the screening of eight groundbreaking silent films by film pioneer Alice Guy-Blaché.
