Battle of the Books 2024

On Monday, July 22, 2024, the DAI Library hosts its second Battle of the Books. Join us for this thrilling reading competition!

The Battle of the Books offers students in grades 10, 11 and 12 to read great books, have fun in competing with their knowledge and gain confidence in reading in English. During the battle, teams will show their knowledge of eight books, classics as well as contemporary books (listed below). Questions and answers will be given in English. The best three teams will of course be awarded a prize!

Procedure:

In order to participate, schools from the Rhein-Neckar region are invited to form teams of up to 10 students to compete in the battle. The books will be provided for you by the DAI Library. Students may begin reading the books as soon as the team is registered. A native English-speaking DAI staff member will meet once with each team to review the books, go over the battle rules, and provide sample questions.
