Public health in the US is under considerable political pressure: debates about scientific authority, funding cuts for research and prevention, and misinformation are shaping the situation. Anne Schuchat, Internist, Epidemiologist, and former Deputy Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She led the national immunization program and serves on the Board for GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance.
