  • AI as a philosophical problem?
  • Lecture

Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly important role in many areas of our lives. From technologies that are already in use today, such as self-driving cars and care robots, to technologies such as autonomous combat drones and automated drug research – the extensive use of AI is accompanied by far-reaching social changes. What opportunities and dangers does AI open up and to what extent should and can humans control them? Who is responsible for AI decisions? Does artificial intelligence create more problems than it solves? In the worst case scenario, will humans even lose the meaning of life? The increasing use of AI raises numerous ethical questions, which the “pop star” among German philosophers Richard David Precht explores.

Dr. Richard David Precht, born in 1964, is a philosopher, publicist and author and one of the most prominent intellectuals in the German-speaking world. His books on philosophical and socio-political topics are bestsellers and have been translated into more than forty languages.
