Anne Brorhilker
- Crisis-proof through consistency
- Combating financial crime using the example of CumEx
- Lecture
Financial crime such as tax evasion and money laundering not only cause financial and economic damage, they also undermine social justice and jeopardize trust in democracy as well as the (constitutional) state and its institutions. At the same time, crises always open up opportunities, as they shed light on systemic weaknesses. Anne Brorhilker, chairwoman of the Bürgerbewegung Finanzwende and former public prosecutor and investigator in the CumEx scandal, reports from her many years of practical experience. She identifies levers in the fight against organized financial crime and calls for decisive action for a crisis-proof constitutional state.
Anne Brorhilker is a lawyer, expert in white-collar crime and a key investigator in the CumEx scandal. She left the public prosecutor’s office in 2024 and is a civil society activist for the consistent fight against financial crime.
