15-year-old Linda Yuan from Heidelberg will perform at the opening of the 36th Heidelberg Piano Week. Yuan has been playing the piano since the age of four and attends the Heidelberg Music and Singing School. At the same time, Yuan is an early student at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and the Rostock University of Music and Drama. She is taught by Uwe Balser, Prof. Roland Krüger, Prof. Matthias Kirschnereit and others. Her musical career has been shaped by many renowned pianists in master classes. She has won over thirty first prizes and special prizes at national and international competitions. Yuan is also a scholarship holder of the German Foundation for Musical Life, the Music Academy in Liechtenstein and the Heidelberg Music School Foundation. She made her solo debut at the age of ten and has since performed at festivals in Germany, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and the USA.
At the DAI, Linda Yuan performs works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Liszt, Igor Stravinsky, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Frédéric Chopin.
