With her current book Parität Jetzt! (2022), Rita Süssmuth wants to advance the debate about equality, especially in politics. After all, participation in power had to be fought for by courageous women. At the same time, inequality seems to increase in times of crisis, when women lag behind in terms of career, income and old-age security. What is the situation of women in politics today? Is parity the goal? What is the path?
