Already in his earliest youth Reuthe won a special prize at the 5th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw for the best performance of a single work. Since then he has played numerous concerts at home and abroad and has been a soloist in many orchestral concerts.

In 1973 he became professor for piano in Seoul and Daegu, and in 1975 he was appointed full professor. From 1980 to 1995 he held a teaching position at the Berlin University of the Arts, and so he again gave more guest performances in European concert halls.

Reuthe is known for his broad tonal palette, from virtuoso enhancement to sensitive, delicate timbre and his impressive accents.

At the DAI he plays Scarlatti, Bach, Mozart, Liszt and Chopin.
