For decades, the USA was a country that attracted the most talented scientists from all over the world. The USA supported research at the highest level and many projects received the Nobel Prize. The Trump administration is now making work increasingly difficult. Budgets are being cut and researchers are being expelled from the country. These are massive encroachments on academic freedom. Even top experts are considering turning their backs on the USA. Trump’s policies seem to be triggering a brain drain, an exodus of top-class scientists. Could we benefit from this?
