Joseph Croitoru

  • The Netanyahu system
  • Lecture

Benjamin Netanyahu is ardently revered and unwaveringly supported by some, hated or feared by others. Ever since the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against him, his controversial position on the world stage has been impossible to overlook. But who is this man, where does he come from, what drives him and how has he built up his network of allies? Joseph Croitoru explores these questions along important stages of Netanyahu’s political rise, drawing on newly discovered documents and letters for the first time.

Dr. Joseph Croitoru is a historian and journalist specializing in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He writes for the German-language press and radio. In addition to the Middle East conflict, his books deal with Jewish and Islamic history and religious fundamentalism. In 2025 he published Das System Netanjahu.
