Judith Holofornes is best known as the front woman of the German band, Wir sind Helden. The songwriter is now publishing her first book, “Gedichte über Tiere”. According to Holofornes, when it comes to comedy, no one quite beats animals! With sincerity and grace, and a dose of cutting humour, Holofernes tells stories which are about people, as much as they are about animals.
Her poems, which first appeared on her online blog, as well as a great many new texts have now been collected in this extraordinary book, illustrated with collages by the artist Vanessa Karré.
Judith Holofernes, born in 1976, is a singer, guitarist, songwriter and author. In 2013, she released her first solo album, Ein leichtes Schwert. Her critical stance against both consumption and the media are evident in many of her texts. A practising Buddhist, Holofornes is also active for the Tibet Initative.
