Award ceremony – Heidelberg Leander

For over 25 years, the “Heidelberg Leander” has been awarded to selected authors whose works are an indispensable enrichment for the development of children. This year, the renowned children’s and young adult book prize will once again be awarded by Schmitt & Hahn in collaboration with children’s book expert and Leander initiator Gabriele Hoffmann and the DAI Heidelberg. The author Katja Brandis is being honored for her complete works. With her fantasy series Woodwalkers, which is loved by countless children, she is regularly at the top of the bestseller list.

Katja Brandis is a German author who is best known for her successful children’s and young adult book series. With series such as Woodwalkers and Seawalkers, she inspires a large young audience and is one of the best-known fantasy authors in the German-speaking world.
