Interns (m/f/d) in the Language School Department

The German-American Institute (DAI) in Heidelberg is a nonprofit cultural institution that provides information on social, political, and cultural events on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition, the DAI offers a wide range of educational programs, including a language school and a public English-language library.

Weregularlyseek interns (w/m/d) for our language schoolthroughout the yearto support usfor three months.

The mission of the DAI Language School is to teach in innovative and varied ways, helping people of all ages and language levels to further develop their language skills and push themselves to new heights.
Our offerings include weekly children’s courses, summer programs, targeted preparation for the Abitur, and exciting creative courses for teens; conversation and grammar courses and Business English for adults; as well as academic writing for students and researchers.

Services

• Drafting texts, invitation letters, presentations, etc.
• Planning, organizing, and implementing individual language course activities
• Research on current projects, and maintenance of mailing lists and databases
• Assisting with the language school’s online and social media channels
• Assisting with the language school’s events and summer program (camps, intensive courses, etc.)

Profile:

• Strong interest in languages and culture
• A feel for language and very strong command of spoken and written German and English (additional languages are a plus)
• Proficiency with all standard Office programs
• Ability to work independently and reliably
• Communicative, open-minded, motivated, self-driven, a team player, and creative
