Interns (f/m/d) ) in the Cultural Program Department
The German-American Institute (DAI) Heidelberg is a non-profit cultural institution dedicated to fostering dialogue on social, political, and cultural developments in the United States and Europe. Our diverse program features individual lectures, lecture series, seminars, discussions in both German and English, as well as concerts, film screenings, and exhibitions. These activities are complemented by our language school and a public English-language library.
To support our cultural programming, we are continuously seeking motivated interns (f/m/d) throughout the year for a period of at least three months.
Your Responsibilities
- Assisting with the planning, organization, and implementation of events (e.g. lectures, readings, concerts, film screenings)
- Supporting the preparation of event content (research, coordination, and communication with speakers)
- Handling general organizational and administrative tasks within the cultural program department
- Communicating with speakers, artists, and partners
- Supporting evening and weekend events (e.g. reception, guest services, event assistance)
Your Profile
- A strong interest in culture, politics, and transatlantic relations
- Excellent written and spoken German
- Very good command of English
- Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently, reliably, and in a structured manner
- Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work well in a team
- Organizational talent and enthusiasm for working in a cultural environment
