Saša Stanišić was born in Yugoslavia in 1978, came to Germany in 1992 and lived in Heidelberg for over ten years. His stories and novels have been translated into over 30 languages and have received numerous awards. Among others, he received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize for Vor dem Fest (2014) and the German Book Prize for Origin (2019).
