  • A day in Wimmlingen
  • International Children's Book Festival

All children know them: The Wimmel books about spring, summer, fall, and winter, which are set in the fictional little town of Wimmlingen and tell so many stories without words that children can lose themselves in them for hours. What makes Berner’s Wimmel books so special is that different characters appear and develop in each volume. Thus, this series invites children to discover, describe, and tell stories over and over again.

Rotraut Susanne Bern er was born in Stuttgart in 1948 and studied graphic design in Munich. She mainly designed book illustrations and covers, and since 1994 has also increasingly published books with her own texts and stories. She has been awarded numerous prizes, including the German Youth Literature Prize for her complete works. Since 2003 she has been living in Munich as a freelance artist.
