Friedhelm Schneidewind & Kai Focke
- Stories of the near and distant future
- A literary-musical evening
- Literature
There’s no question that AI is dominating the headlines – and it’s also leaving its mark on literature. In Local Monday, two experts who are also authors explore this topic: Kai Focke, co-editor of the “Future-Life” anthology Campus 2049, illustrates how futurology can take its cue from science fiction. Friedhelm Schneidewind sheds light on the topic of AI from a scientific perspective and then reads short stories from his new anthology Das Haus, das seinen Kamin verschenkte (2025). And right now, both will be showcasing their musical talent as the duo “altramentum et claritas”. No more will be revealed.
Friedhelm Schneidewind is an author, musician and lecturer. He publishes science fiction and fantasy novels as well as encyclopaedias and non-fiction books, especially on mythology and fantastic literature.
Prof. Dr. Kai Focke teaches at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Mannheim, which cooperates with the Phantastische Bibliothek Wetzlar in its “Future Life” section. He mainly writes science fiction short stories and describes himself as a “part-time fantasist”.
