Hyein Jeon, born in 1997, began playing the piano at the age of six. Her musical education took her from Yewon Middle Art School to Seoul Arts High School, where she received excellence awards for her performances. She also took first place in the overall entrance examination at Seoul National University and was awarded a full scholarship. She is currently pursuing her piano studies in Germany at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media.
Hyein Jeon has been recognized as a prizewinner at national and international competitions. In Germany, she received a special prize for her interpretation of Beethoven works at the Anton Rubinstein International Competition. In 2017, she was the youngest winner of the Delia Steinberg International Piano Competition in Spain.
In addition to the piano, Hyein Jeon has developed a special interest in the fortepiano and performs in various fortepiano salons under the guidance of Zvi Meniker.
At the 34th Heidelberg Piano Week at the DAI, Hyein Jeon will play works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Domenico Scarlatti, Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy, Lowell Liebermann and Robert Schumann.
