Over decades, the Galapagos Big Band has developed a large repertoire that includes the classics of Count Basie, Charlie Parker, Thad Jones as well as the greats of contemporary big band literature such as Bob Mintzer, Toshiko Akiyoshi or Gordon Goodwin. Whether swing, funk, rock or Latin – the 18-piece formation inspires with its fat big band sound, the hard, precise kicks of the horns and the perfect saxophone phrases. They also show all their skills with balads and solo ballads.
On this evening there will be a musical reunion with Knut Rössler (saxophone), who has led the band for many years and carried out many musical projects with them.
