Ernie Watts

He played in the Big Band of Buddy Rich, performed with Thelonius Monk, Aretha Franklin, Pat Metheny, Sun Ra and Frank Zappa.

But there is no need to mention such music legends any more, as the name Ernie Watts has long been synonymous with world-class jazz itself. Together with his German companions Christoph Sänger (piano), Rudi Engel (double bass) and Heinrich Köbberling (drums) he will make the hearts of jazz fans beat faster. Today Watts will be joined by theoretical physicist and jazz musician Stephon Alexander, who will also give a lecture at the DAI before the concert starting at 5 p.m.

We are looking forward to a reunion with the two-time Grammy winner – one of the most versatile and productive saxophonists in the world.
