The school of magical animals

“Writing makes you happy”, says Margit Auer, and that is great luck for us, her readers. The School of Magical Animals now comprises 15 volumes! We want to celebrate the publication of her latest book in the series together, as she is presenting it for the first time at the DAI. She will also be presenting a medley of previous stories. After the reading there will be a discussion with the audience, who are sure to have lots of questions!

As a child,Margit Auer wanted to be a postwoman and deliver letters on a yellow bicycle – but then she decided to become a journalist and wrote many articles for newspapers. When her three sons were born, she read lots of children’s books and decided to write some herself. Good for us! Margit Auer has been awarded many prizes, including the Leipzig Reading Compass, the Leseknirps and the Heidelberger Leander.
