Last Aid

  • Support for the seriously ill and dying in the final stages of life
  • Workshop

The course provides basic knowledge about dying, death, and saying goodbye. It focuses on care, connection, and practical support within the family, among friends, or among neighbors. Modeling his approach on first-aid courses, emergency medicine physician Georg Bollig developed the “Last Aid” courses in 2008, offering concrete guidance for the final stage of life. The Louise Hospice has been offering these courses since 2019. In the workshop, participants learn how to support loved ones at the end of life and how to say goodbye in a meaningful way. The course covers four key areas: dying as a part of life, planning ahead and making decisions, alleviating suffering, and saying goodbye.
