Henri Hirt

Henri Hirt’s view of the world touches and inspires, prompts reflection, and at the same time makes one feel a wonderful lightness of being. His very first poetry collection, *Herz ist eine Sprache, die wir verstehen* (*The Heart Is a Language We Understand* ), garnered attention throughout Germany and was featured, among other places, on the ARD magazine program *titel thesen temperamente *. At the 12th Literaturherbst, Henri Hirt will now celebrate the book launch of his second collection. The young writer will read from his poems, reflections, and stories, which explore all facets of life and what it means to be truly human—with heart and, time and again, with humor. “Writing,” says Henri Hirt, “feels good,” and that becomes tangible for everyone during the reading and discussion.

Henri Hirt was born in Cologne in 2003 with Down syndrome. He has lived in Walldorf near Heidelberg since 2005. He is a freelance writer.
