Twin brothers Fodé and Bouhel grow up in Senegal in search of their selves. Fodé is a carpenter, he leads a traditional life in his homeland and follows his spiritual calling. Bouhel chooses literature and music. He studies in France and finds fulfillment in love with Ulga, a Polish student. But a misfortune blocks their joint path to the future. Felwine Sarr takes us on her quest. The Places Where My Dreams Reside (2023) is a philosophical, poetic, and deeply human novel.

Felwine Sarr, born in Senegal in 1972, is considered one of Africa’s most important intellectuals. A writer and musician, he teaches as a professor of economics at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis, Senegal. Felwine Sarr has reflected on Africa’s future in his books, including Afrotopia (2019), and generated widespread debate worldwide.
