“I’m not coming home.” This sentence marks the beginning of Ece Temelkuran’s involuntary exile. After the 2016 coup attempt, she left Turkey to escape repression—and became part of a “nation of strangers.” In *Nation of Strangers*, she writes personally and politically about exile, uprooting, and the feeling of no longer having a place in a monstrous world. Yet the book is not a swan song, but a search for connection and a new home—in dialogue, in resistance, and within ourselves. An invitation to all who feel alienated to rediscover solidarity.

Ece Temelkuran is a lawyer and journalist born in Izmir, Turkey. After criticizing the Erdoğan regime, she was forced to leave Turkey and now lives in Berlin.
