DAI Writing Competition 2025

What does it mean to belong to more than one place — or to drift between them without ever settling?
This year’s DAI Writing Contest invites writers to explore the subtle territories where identities overlap, memories of one world color the light of another, and the self is shaped not by a single origin but by the quiet dialogue between many.
Participants are invited to submit either a short story or an essay. There is no formal word limit, though we encourage thoughtful craft.
Eligibility
• Teenagers (ages 13–19)
• Adults (19+)

A Gala Evening will be held on Thursday, December 11th at 8 p.m. at the DAI.
The winning authors will be invited to share their work aloud.
