Anastasia Sokolova was born in 1996 into a family of musicians in St. Petersburg and received her first piano lessons at the age of five. At the age of nine she won first prizes at competitions, and at 13 she made her debut in the St. Petersburg Philharmonic with the St. Petersburg State Orchestra.

At home and abroad Sokolova has received several awards, most recently at the Bang & Olufsen PianoRama Competition in Denmark and the F. Chopin Competition in Estonia. She attended master classes with Arie Vardi and Bernd Goetzke, among others.

Sokolova is a scholarship holder of the Stiftung Live Musik Now Hannover, received the Germany Scholarship in 2016 and has been a scholarship holder of the Gundlach Foundation in Hannover since 2017.

At the DAI she plays Rameau, Schubert, Brahms and Shostakovich.
