Simone Gragnani was born in Pisa in 1968 and began his musical education at an early age. As the winner of many national and international prizes at piano competitions he has been able to draw a lot of attention towards himself. He owes his first musical education to the pianist Antonio Bacchelli who taught him at the conservatoire in Florence and Turin.

He continued his studies with Maria Tipo, Paolo Bordoni, Maria Golia and Homero Francesch in whose master class he also graduated and got his Masters Diploma in 1997 and his Soloists Diploma with distinction at the University of Music in Zurich in 1998.

He is a regular guest at important concert institutions and theatres like the Amici della Musica, Società Italiane de Concerti, Centro Busoni, St.Moritz Piano Festival, the International Schleswig-Holstein-Festival in Lübeck and the RSI (radio and television of the italian speaking part of Switzerland) in Lugano.

At the DAI he is going to play pieces from Franz Liszt.
