Ryo Yamanishi, born in Tokyo in 1995, graduated from the Toho-Gakuen Conservatory of Music in March 2017 with excellent results. He then completed his master’s degree and also concert exam with Professor Gilead Mishory at the Freiburg University of Music, graduating with honors. Since October 2021, he has been an Academic Associate for Correpetition at the Freiburg University of Music.

Yamanishi has participated in several national as well as international competitions and has received many awards. He was a scholarship holder of the Helene Rosenberg Foundation and Dr.-Leo-Ricker-Foundation, the Swiss Fondation Clavarte and the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Freiburg e.V. association.

He attended master classes with Carmen Piazzini, Klaus Hellwig, Piotr Paleczny, Konrad Elser, Pascal Devoyon, Einar Steen-Nøkleberg, Pierre Réach, Jean-Claude Pennetier and Hortense Cartier-Bresson.

At the DAI he plays works by Scarlatti, Bach, Mishory, Handel and Brahms.
