UN Security Council Reform: why not include the International Court of Justice?

A high ranking Bulgarian diplomat and former Ambassador to the United Nations, Dr. Dimitroff will speak on UN reform initiatives, particularly as they relate to the UN Security Council (UNSC) and the International Court of Justice. In his distinguished career, Dr. Dimitroff has held the post of UN Director in charge of Bulgarian membership in the UNSC. He has also served as Chief Negotiator on border issues in the bilateral negotiations with Romania and Turkey and as Senior Legal Adviser of the UN Special Envoy for the future status of Kosovo. A Doctor of Law and Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, H.E. Mr. Dimitroff has extensive experience in international law, its interpretation, implementation and implications for the reform of its decisive tribunal, namely, the UN Security Council. This lecture represents the first in a six-part series on International Relations planned with the Schiller International University.
