Sergei Prokofiev’s 2nd Piano Concerto in G minor, op. 16 is considered one of the most technically demanding works in the piano repertoire. It was premiered in 1913 and is known for its night-shadowed opening. At Musical Sunday at the DAI Heidelberg, two enthusiasts and the audience will delve deep into the work, the original version of which once disappeared under dramatic circumstances: writer and musicologist Marcus Imbsweiler and violinist, composer and conductor Timo Jouko Herrmann.
