Miriam Meckel & Léa Steinacker Wed, 20th March 2024, 8:00 pm Everything everywhere at once How artificial intelligence is changing our world and what we can gain from it In dialogue Artificial intelligence is now available to everyone for the first time. With programs like ChatGPT, we are at a decisive threshold in our cultural evolution. Everything is changing everywhere at once. Miriam Meckel and Léa Steinacker show the opportunities that the step over this threshold holds. But how do we steer development in the right direction and where do risks or ethical dilemmas lurk? If we want to keep up in an increasingly complex world, we also need to expand our human intelligence – and artificial intelligence can help us with this too. Miriam Meckel is Professor of Communication Management at the University of St. Gallen. She was editor-in-chief and publisher of Wirtschaftswoche, as well as State Secretary for Media and International Affairs in North Rhine-Westphalia. Léa Steinacker is a social scientist, journalist and entrepreneur who completed her doctorate at the University of St. Gallen on the social impact of artificial intelligence. Together they founded ada Learning, a training program for future skills, in 2018.
