The duo sets the poems of Lebanese multi-artist Etel Adnan to music in a special way. Adnan’s language is pictorial and has sound painting and rhythm in itself. The result of Return & Crossing is a self-contained work – a melange of melodic, flat motifs but also bizarre rhythmic patterns – the aspect of improvisation is always latently present. A multi-colored dramaturgical production is presented, which always aims to pay tribute to the recently deceased artist.
