  • Literature

Pando is an adventure novel. The journey goes from the Ruhr area to Los Angeles, across the salt lakes of Bolivia to the Niger Delta, past camps and gas stations. Pando is also a clone colony of the American aspen, the oldest living creature in the world, around 14,000 years old and consisting of over 47,000 strains. Enis Maci and Pascal Richmann buy a Honda and drive there. They encounter hollowed-out landscapes, contradictory founding myths, stories that span the globe. They, a pair of lovers, look in different directions and write towards each other.

Enis Maci has received several awards for her plays and essays, including the 2020 Ruhr Literature Prize, and wrote the book Karl May (2024) with Mazlum Nergiz.

Pascal Richmann studied cultural anthropology in Heidelberg and publishes theater texts, essays, reports and stories. He wrote the play Kamilo Beach with Enis Maci (premiere at the Volksbühne in Berlin in 2022).
