Discussion Group – U.S. People, Politics, and the Presidency

The latest on what’s affecting people in the U.S. Growing divisions in society, heated debates on race and inequality, discussions about the electoral system, and concerns about climate change—with more intense wildfires and hurricanes—all taking place in a highly charged political atmosphere. The group addresses these issues and others selected by the participants, discussing them with the help of newspaper articles, TV interviews, and other media. Occasionally, experts from the U.S. participate online.
Discussions are led by Joseph Lorenz. Joe earned his PhD in (Biological) Anthropology from the University of California, Davis, and has extensive experience in laboratory research and teaching at the university level in the U.S.
