It may have been a while since Time Magazine named David Sedaris “Humorist of the Year.” But when he goes on tour, the halls are still packed and the people still crying tears of laughter. His upcoming visit to Heidelberg promises to be no different, since he’ll be bringing along his newest book. In “Theft by Finding”, the 60-year-old New Yorker, now living in Paris, grants us the very first glimpse into his private musings.

Sedaris tells the tale of a drug-addicted high school dropout with a weakness for pancakes and a knack for getting fired from every job he ever held, who managed to become one of the funniest people on the planet. This includes tales of his teen years in North Carolina, his homosexuality, or his various OCDs – all permeated by Sedaris’ wit and self-effacing humor.
