  • A designer remembers
  • Erwin Poell
  • Literature

With this volume, Erwin Poell, born in Ravensburg in 1930, continues his memoirs up to the present day and provides his readers with insights into his private career as well as his everyday professional life. With over eighty national and international prizes and awards, he was one of the top German graphic designers in the Federal Republic for over three decades. Thanks to his profound training in four graphic design professions and his studies at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, he is one of the few generalists in graphic design.

For decades, Erwin Poell was one of the most renowned book designers in the Federal Republic. For example, the current version of the Ullstein Owl is his work. For the German Post Office, he designed numerous postage stamps, which were printed in an edition of over one billion copies. And: The logo of the city of Heidelberg was created at his desk.

The autobiography was published by Mattes Verlag in Heidelberg in May 2022.
