“A journalist who knows too much. A son who betrays his father. An oligarch who knows no mercy. A corrupt hack with no scruples.”

The Hunt is about an oligarch close to the state who wants to keep his machinations to himself. This intention is thwarted by a journalist and more and more details of his dealings come to light. To prevent further bad press, the oligarch wants to get rid of the journalist. From the voices of the hunter and the hunted, the story of a manhunt with fatal consequences unfolds.

Belarusian writer Sasha Filipenko has worked as a journalist, screenwriter and television presenter, among other things. The Hunt (2022) is his third novel to appear in German, following The Former Son (2021) and Red Crosses (2020). Filipenko repeatedly proves to be a harsh critic of the Belarusian system in open letters and interviews.
