  • Israel's party landscape and the situation after the elections
  • Lecture

Israel’s party landscape is not easy to grasp due to its diversity and constant change. The number of parties and the range of topics that determine the political agenda are relatively constant. But Israel’s “political centre”, once dominated by the left-wing Labour Party, has moved further and further to the right. The left and thus the peace camp are increasingly becoming a marginal phenomenon. In addition to the history of the Israeli party landscape, the electoral programs highlight the positions of the most important parties, including the Palestinian question.

Dr. Joseph Croitoru, historian and journalist specializing in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, writes for the FAZ and NZZ, among others.
