The Irish author and journalist Colm Toíbín reads from recently published works.

Colm Tóibín, born in 1955 in Enniscorthy, has been guest Professor at a number of universities, including Stanford and Princeton. In 2011, he lectured in Creative Writing at the University of Manchester, and he currently lectures at Columbia University. His writing typically thematises Ireland, creativity and personal identity, homosexual identities, and life after loss. He has been nominated for the Man Booker Prize on a number of occasions, and in 2011, he was awarded the Irish PEN Award.

Colm Tóibín is one of the “interns” of the project, “Research as Religion?” As part of which ten international authors are currently completing an, “internship” at academic institutions in Heidelberg. The project is funded by the regional Kulturstiftung.
