Karl Schlögel taught as professor of Eastern European history at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder until 2013. He received the Prize of the College of History for Terror and Dream (2016). His most recent book, American Matrix. Visiting an Epoch (Fall 2023) looks at the history of the 20th century-the great years of the United States.
