With the establishment of the Commission on the Status of Women in 1946 and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in 1979, the status of women was recognized as an issue of international concern. However, despite many achievements, this equality remains unfulfilled. From this starting point, Prof. Hélène Ruiz Fabri sheds light on the interrelationship between women and international law.

Prof. Hélène Ruiz Fabri is Director of the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law, where she heads the Department of International Law and Dispute Resolution. She holds a PhD in international law and two postgraduate degrees in public law and political science.
