Judith Rossell & Ingeborg von Zadow

  • Children's book and children's opera, halfway around the world: a workshop discussion
  • Literature

The Australian children’s book author and illustrator Judith Rossell worked in the artist residence in the Kommandantenhaus in Dilsberg in March 2020. Because of the Corona pandemic, she had to cut short her stay. But her budding friendship with Heidelberg playwright Ingeborg von Zadow took her back to Australia – Skype made it possible!

A deep working friendship developed across continents – in times of uncertainty and ongoing lockdowns – which has since resulted in a new children’s book by Judith Rossell and a new opera libretto by Ingeborg von Zadow. At Local Monday, both will present excerpts from their works and talk about the value of mutual artistic influence.
