Daniel Cohn-Bendit

  • Under the tunnels of the beach
  • Football and politics - my life
  • In dialogue

Like millions of Europeans, Daniel Cohn-Bendit will follow them with passion: In his autobiography, he recounts how Europe and football have shaped his whole life, starting with the final of the 1954 World Cup.
During his studies in Paris in May 1968, he stands on the barricades – Dany le rouge, the red Dany.
This was followed by wild years in politics and in private life, in Germany and France – and it was always about football. Cohn-Bendit talks with enthusiasm and humour about his passion for a generous, offensive game. For him, football is more than just sport, it is a mirror of society, a mirror of politics, a mirror of life – including his own.

Cohn-Bendit, born in France in 1945, was a bookseller, founder of a city magazine and head of the department for multicultural affairs in Frankfurt. He sat for the German and French Greens in the European Parliament from 1994 to 2014.
