A cry for help from the people for security in uncertain times? Vittorio Hösle, at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana/USA) since 1999, explains which changes favoured the rise of right-wing populists, which undesirable developments are disintegrating liberalism, and how the self-destruction of the West within a geopolitical environment is having an effect.
