WORD UP! Special Poetry Slam

Today more than ever before, the question as to how and what we choose to eat provides the perfect starting point for a lively debate. Vegan? Fast food? Organic? The way we choose to eat is no longer simply a matter of our culinary preferences. We tend to assume that anyone who chooses to eat meat has little regard for animals and for the planet. Anyone who leads a vegan lifestyle is accused of being a dogmatic, pseudo do-gooder. Different ways of eating and the lifestyles with which they are associated, make a political statement.

This evening, eight top-class poetry slammers, will take these topics in hand. They will tackle the question of nutrition and eating from different perspectives. They will take entirely contrasting points of view and will implement their most powerful weapons – their words.
