Joseph H.H.Weiler is one of the leading scholars in European and international law as well as one of the most important intellectual voices of our time.
He is currently the Jean Monnet Professor as well as the Joseph Straus Professor of Law at the New York University School of Law. After his studies in Great Britain, he did his doctorate at the European Institute in Florence which, after positions held at Michigan, Harvard and NYU, he was President of until the end of 2016.

Weiler’s research focuses in particular on human rights, European Union law, and WTO law (World Trade Organisation),, as well as with questions concerning the interface between religion and the law.
